How to prepare for descriptive test of SBI PO Exam?

Writing skills is a significant part of communication and Descriptive Test (of English Language) as this test is conducted to test your writing skills, understanding, analyzing and summarizing skills.
Students find it difficult to write essays and letters as it needs proper knowledge of English language so that one can express one’s thoughts in the best possible way.

  1. Develop the habit of reading English newspaper daily.
  2. Read between the lines each article which attracts you the most and understand the topic clearly.
  3. List the difficult words you have experienced while reading the newspaper and find the meaning of the same.
  4. Use the difficult words recognized by you and use them in your daily life to understand the usage.
  5. Then, take one current affairs topic to write and get it checked by an expert.
  6. Learn various formats of letters and follow the same according to the question asked by the examiner.
  7. Do not repeat the same word or phrase in your writing; rather use its alternatives.
  8. Try to make short sentences rather than than long ones.
  9. Refer previous year question papers and practice essays and letters asked. It will give you the idea about the topics generally asked in the SBI PO Mains Exam.
